Driver Education

  Dale & Adam's Track Schedule

What is PCA Driver Education?

Driver Education is an opportunity for you to learn what you and your car can do at higher speeds than those legally seen on the highways. These are strictly supervised events hosted at road race tracks where you are instructed on driving the race line at progressive speed depending on your ability. The goal is simply to teach you how to drive your car well with emphasis on smoothness and consistency.

Drivers are placed into different run group levels based on their experience and skill. The two beginning levels require an instructor in the car with you so that you correctly and safely learn the techniques of performance driving on a track. It is not racing, nor are these even timed events, and there are strict rules about passing and behavior on the track. You can drive at whatever pace is comfortable for you, and it's an excellent chance to learn car handling techniques that can be invaluable in unexpected situations that arise on  the street.

You car can be driven "as is" (with the addition of a fire extinguisher) but you do have to wear an approved helmet. Street tires are fine when you're first starting off in the beginning levels.

Though it may sound intimidating, Driver Education is a unique experience that's guaranteed to be fun! DE is open to any PCA member with a driver license, male or female. Check out some of the links below to learn more about these events. Come join some of your fellow DER members at any of the events scheduled below. It won't be long before you too become a "track junkie"!
