Board of Directors Meetings

Show 'N Shine:  Reasonably lengthy discussion of this event, and possible plans for the future.  Feedback from all constituencies very positive.  Baxter School for the Deaf provided great support, and found us good to work with as a group.  Likewise the Falmouth Rotary Club...excellent support, and a good mutual relationship.  It was noted that the mix of cars that were shown was very unusual, in that vintage American cars, Porsches, British cars, exotic cars, and even hot rods were included.  Discussion of whether we and the Baxter School folks liked that mix, or might want to try something different next year.  No resolution yet.

Newsletter update:  Story in our newsletter and possibly for Pano's From the Regions column about our tour to the Balsams.

Tour to the Balsams:  In discussion of Balsams tour, suggestion that the second time seemed like a long drive.  Might consider another location next year, such as the Mt. Washington Hotel.  However, there were more participants this year than last, so that needs to be taken into consideration.

DER BBQ:  Scheduled for Sunday, August 22.  If we want to bring a dish to pass, we should show up by 2:00.  Jeff will provide burgers, hot dogs, condiments, rolls, soft drinks, and a salad.  Joe and Jane Thrift will provide chicken for grilling, and dessert.  Sally Sprafka  will provide a salad.  Steve Atwell will coordinate the prizes for the Fun Concours. 

Possible PANORAMA articles (Regions column):  Something about the Mackworth Island Show N Shine, as well as the tour to The Balsams.  Gerry agreed to put together some ideas about the Show N Shine.

Zone 1 Rally and concours:  DERPCA has notified Henry Hoeh (Zone 1 rep) that we will not be hosting this event.

German Restaurant tour:   Tentatively planned for October 3.  We will go to the Old Munich Restaurant Cafe and Biergarten on Crossing Street in Topsham.  Current plans are to meet at the Falmouth WalMart parking lot at 2:00 p.m. and tour to the restaurant, arriving about 4:00.  Steve Atwell has agreed to lead the tour. 

Finances:  Our bank account is quite healthy.

Next Meeting:  September 14th, 2004 at 7:00 at Steve Atwell's office (Otis & Atwell on Gannett Drive, S. Portland).
