Previous BOD
Meeting Minutes
Present:
Steve Atwell,
Russ Radcliffe, Don McGilvery, Ned Vadakin, Linc Avery, Sally Sprafka
Meeting
convened 7:00 p.m.
Minutes
approved as written from
the June '02 meeting as submitted. There were no minutes
for the July meeting.
Membership:
Don has membership update information from
Rod Carr. Dave Getchell did not renew. Mark Ettinger transferred to
North Country Region. Three transfers from Up'N Maine to North Country.
Old Business:
Regarding the Up'N Maine region - - Don has not received satisfactory
response from Henry Hoeh. He will take the issue to Bob Miller. In the
mean time we have evidence that three members of Up'N Maine have
transferred to North Country Region. Don will pursue this until there is
some resolution.
Upcoming events:
Jeff's Bar B Q: Jeff will provide the
venue as always. Also he will provide grilled burgers and hot dogs, as
well as salad and soft drinks. Sally will bring a salad. Russ and Don
will supply coolers for drinks. Event should run from 2:00 to about
4:30.
German Restaurant Tour: October 6. See
Events and newsletter for further information
Midcoast
Ramble: Has been rescheduled for
October 13.
October
26: Charity Run/ Make-A-Wish Foundation, in collaboration with
North Country Region.
October 27: Oxford Plains is
available for autocross. Conflicts with NHIS event that several members
will attend. Sally Sprafka will help with timing and scoring at Oxford.
Don will contact Don Michaud (who helped out last year) to see if he is
available.
Web Page review: We
placed in the top 15 out of about 140 web sites. San Diego Region took
first place. North Country Region came in second. A couple of issues
around the web page, and e-mail addresses. We need to get more members'
e-mail addresses, so we can post reminders to them of upcoming events, and
other news. That said, Linc noted that he has run afoul of an aol screen
for spam that apparently looks at all multiple mailings, and even if they
are legitimate, rejects them as spam. Recommend talking with Ellen Beck
about how she handles this problem, as she sends out several electronic
mailings per month. We need to upgrade our communication with members, as
well as our capacity to use electronic mailings more effectively.
Newsletter update: Glenn did not
attend this meeting, and did not forward a report to any board member.
Next Meeting:
