Membership:
Reasonably stable. For this round 2 people joined, and 2 people didn't
renew.
Old Business:
Review of Ice Cream Run:
All around well attended and a hit. Good weather. Good company. Need to
get list of attendees to Linc Avery to post on website. Joe will forward
funds collected to Steve for treasury.
Upcoming events:
Balsams tour: Dutch
Dresser, who lives in Bethel kindly made the arrangements for this event.
Steve will call the Balsams with a head count. Dress is "nice casual" or
"business casual". We are not sure of the parking situation, so will not
take the banner. On our return, those who wish to should stop at Gould
Academy for a presentation by Dutch Dresser of a navigational sphere he
designed which stands as a sculpture in the lobby of a new building on the
campus. Steve indicated that at this point there were at least 20 people
planning to attend in 11 cars. Rendezvous at the causeway in Naples on
Rte 302 on Sunday July 20 at 9:00.
Web Page review:
Linc is not here this evening. He has made a few changes to the page.
Added the sound back. The home page is a nice collage of photos.
Newsletter update:
Glenn is not here this evening. Another issue of the newsletter is due
out in about a week. Right after the Balsams tour.
Other:
$5.00 per car entry fee:
Should continue unless there are objections.
Welcome Aboard mailer: Glenn
distributed Original that will be copied and sent/given to all new members
and Up 'N Maine transfers. Two pages (1 page, 2 sides), color photos,
brief blurbs about our activities. Very attractive layout. Any spare
copies will go to Don and Glenn. Some will be placed at the dealership.
Communication from
PCA/Zone 1: Only 1 significant item, and
that is that Henry Hoeh needs the details for the Rally/Concours in 2005
(see below).
2005 Zone 1 Concours and Rally: Discussion
revealed that we can choose a date for the event as well as a venue. We
should expect about 50 cars, not all of whom will enter the concours or
the rally. It was noted that at the last of these events (7 years ago),
there were 50 cars entered in the concours, although only 25 were judged.
It was suggested that The Cliffhouse might be appropriate for the
concours. Steve and Kyle Atwell will check out the following venues:
Cliffhouse, Portland Head Light. Potential attendees are most interested
in the Portland Head Light, and staying at the Marriott. Bob Michaelson
is rally chair, and Steve Paderek in concours chair. We decided the best
date was in September 2005, with the rally on Saturday and the concours in
Sunday. There is a rally in the can. It is the one used at the 1987
Parade. If we use that rally, we will need to run the checkpoints, and we
will need to line up cars. All the other work is done by Zone 1. Don
will take these ideas to the Fall Presidents' Meeting.
Next Meeting:
October 14th, 2003, 7:00 p.m.,
