Morong-Falmouth introduces the new Porsche 991 On Thursday evening March 1, Morong-Falmouth will be introducing the new Porsche 911 dubbed the 991 series, This will be Maine's first viewing of the next generation Porsche 911. Newsworthy Albert Kolff and Tom Lederer of Car Harbor LLC., Kennebunk, ME, is intending to build a secure campus for automobile collections. It will include 9 large barns and a clubhouse on 14 acres at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station site. They are planning to build 4 large car barns with 12 to 14 "car condominium" units and a clubhouse within the next 2 years. Their website with all the info and drawings is www.carharbormaine.com.
February Breakfast Our monthly breakfast will be held on Saturday, February 11th, at 9:00 A.M., at Sea Dog Brewery Co., 125 Western Ave., South Portland, near The Maine Mall. 871-7000. Great way to start the weekend. Car talk optional. A BONUS -- In honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day, incoming president Will Lund will be treating all women present on Saturday morning to a Mimosa or Bloody Mary.
Board Meeting The February Board Meeting will be held on Monday, the 13th, at 7:00 P.M., at Steve Atwell's office, Otis Atwell, 324 Gannett Drive, South Portland. All members are encouraged to attend.
"Fire On The Foreside" Chili Cook-Off In lieu of our monthly dinner, we're having our annual "Fire On The Foreside" Chili Cook-Off, Sunday, February 26th, at 2:00 P.M., at Gloria and Jerry Giordano's house. Cook up your favorite homemade chili recipe, put it in a crockpot, optional, and bring it to the Giordano's. Gloria and Jerry will furnish the tortilla chips, cornbread, salad, and soft drinks. You furnish your most creative chili and BYOB. Format is chili cook-off style. There will be "blind tastings" and members will vote for their favorites. Awards for: Best Salsa-category just added Favorite Chili Hottest Chili Most Unusual Chili This year we're asking you to include a 3 x 5 card explaining what's special or unusual about your chili. If you don't like chili, bring something you do like. In Fact, if you prefer, just bring yourself and perhaps a few bucks to throw in the "kitty". We'd just like to see you. Also, this year we'll be having a special "live viewing" of the famous Daytona 500 on the Giordano's widescreen TV.
