January 9th, 2010 Saturday DER Monthly Breakfast Social - Join us for a 9 a.m. breakfast at the Toddy Brook Golf Course on 925 Sligo Road in North Yarmouth (829-5100). This event will occur on the 2nd Saturday of every month. No sign-up needed - just show-up and fill-up!

January 26th, 2010 Tuesday Night DER Monthly Dinner Get-Together. DER will be hosting a monthly social dinner meeting on this night at 6:30 p.m. This month's venue is the Lion's Pride which is at 112 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. Social hour at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm. This highly endorsed by several members of the club and has over 100 kinds of beer.

February 21st, 2010 Third Annual DER Chili Cook-Off. By popular demand, the "Fire on the Foreside" returns to the Giordano's! Just bring a crock pot of your favorite "secret" chili and/or salsa recipe that you would like to have your friends sample. All attendees will participate in a "blind" tasting and then vote for the winners in three categories: 1) Favorite, 2) Hottest, 3) Most Exotic. There will be more than enough chili for everyone, so if you're bashful or don't like to cook come anyway! Bring some chips or beer instead! More people = more fun.

The chili cookoff starts at 3 PM at the home of Jerry and Gloria Giordano at 80 Foreside Road, Cumberland-Foreside 04110. Please RSVP (positives only) to ggiordan@maine.rr.com or 781-4904.

February 27th, 2010 30th Annual PCA Zone 1 2009 Tech Tactics. This year the event will be hosted by Danbury Porsche in CT and feature guest speaker Hurley Haywood. Only 150 tickets will be sold; none at the gate. Details

March 27th, 2010 Annual DER Banquet. Hosted again at the Cumberland Club in Portland, we will be featuring a guest speaker TBA. Reception begins at 6:30, Dinner at 7:30. Invitations will be mailed out in February.

April 24th, 2010 Pot Luck Hors D'ouvres, 7:00 p.m. Saturday April 24, at the Thrifts, 6 Sawyer Street, Scarborough. Thrifts will provide dessert, beer, wine, and soda. RSVP to Jane or Joe at 799-8992. This is in lieu of our monthly dinner.

May 2nd, 2010 DER Annual Spring Fling - Dust off the car, pump up the tires, and drive on down to the open house at Morong VW-Porsche-Audi on Route 1 in Falmouth, 10a.m. -12p.m. Come talk cars with us and kick some tires. Coffee, donuts, bagels, etc. will be provided.

May 28-30th, 2010 Watkins Glen PCA Club Race - Zone 1 PCA is bringing Club Racing to the Glen on May 28 – May 30 for a weekend of Porsche racing, with 2 Sprint races for each race group on Saturday and 3 90-minute Enduros on Sunday! July 25th, 2010 DER 7th Annual Show 'N Shine Car Show. Be sure to make room on your club’s calendar for one of Maine’s premiere summer events, the annual Mackworth Island Show & Shine to benefit the Foundation for Maine’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children. Sponsored by the DER with help from the Falmouth Rotary Club, this family event annually attracts more than a hundred cars and thousands of car enthusiasts. The event takes place from 10 a.m. (8:30 a.m. for registrants) to 2 p.m. and car entry fee is just $10 with all proceeds benefiting hearing-impaired children and their families. August 28-29th, 2010 Zone 1 Autocross, Fort Devens, Ayers, MA - Two-day event. New course each day; Parade Competition Rules (PCRs) are used for classifying & trophies. Men’s & Women’s parallel classes; Must compete both days to trophy; Team Challenge for All PCA Regions; Registration opens 8 AM sharp; First car off approx 9:15 AM; Porsche cars only; Dinner on Saturday night after the event. September 24-26th, 2010 Our Big Event! The DER First Annual Weekend Driving Trip - Join us for an autumn driving trip to one of the finest hotels in Canada’s Eastern Townships. We will leave the Portland area on Friday afternoon and travel through New Hampshire and Vermont, arriving at Auberge Ripplecove on Lake Massawippi in Ayers Cove, Canada.
We’ll stay Friday night and Saturday night and return back to Portland Sunday afternoon. In between, there is golf, hiking, antique shopping, wine and cheese tasting at some interesting Canadian wineries, and even some surprise car activities yet to be determined.
Our rates include dinner Friday, full country breakfast and dinner Saturday and breakfast again on Sunday morning. The Auberge has wonderful food so we’re certain to enjoy ourselves. We have a variety of room types available with rates ranging from $203 per person/per day (Canadian dollars) for a standard room to $224 per person/per day for a superior room, $260 per person/per day for a deluxe room and $297 per person/per day for a luxury room. All rates include tips and service charges.

The check should be made payable to DER/PCA. The balance will be paid directly to the hotel and can be put on Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
