  January 12th, 2008    Saturday DER Monthly Breakfast Social. Join us for a 9 a.m. breakfast at the Senator Inn & Spa (Best Western) "Cloud Nine" restaurant off Exit 109 on Western Ave. in Augusta. It's a great chance to catch up on cars while enjoying such treats as a lobster/crabmeat omelet (check out the menu!). This event will occur on the 2nd Saturday of every month. No sign-up needed - just show-up and fill-up!

  January 29th, 2008     Tuesday Night DER Monthly Dinner Get-Together. Drive out the winter chill and join DER Members for dinner at Mims Brasserie, 205 Commercial Street in Portland.  Cocktails at 6:30 p.m.; Dinner 7 p.m.  Parking on street or nearby on Fisherman's Wharf.  Menu

Directions from the North:
295 South to Exit 7 (Franklin Street Arterial) Follow Franklin Street Arterial through five lights at the sixth light (Casco Bay Lines parking garage is across the street) take a right onto Commercial Street. Follow Commercial Street past five side streets on your right. We are on the corner of Dana Street (the sixth street on your right) and Commercial Street. Chandlers Wharf is across the street from our location.

From the South:
295 North to Exit 7 (Franklin Street Arterial) - Continue with directions from the North.

  February 9th, 2008    Saturday DER Monthly Breakfast Social. CANCELLED due to winter weather.

  February 24th, 2008    DER "Chili Challenge". DER will be hosting a different social dinner on Sunday 2/24. Cook up your favorite homemade chili recipe, put it in a crockpot (not necessarily in that order) and bring it to Jerry and Gloria Giordano's house on Sunday, February 24th, at 3 PM. The Giordano's will furnish the tortilla chips, cornbread, salad, and soft drinks. You furnish your most creative chili, and BYOB. 

Format: like a chili cook-off, there will be "blind tastings" and people will vote on their favorites. Awards will be given for:

1. Favorite chili   2. Hottest chili   3. Most unusual chili 

If you don't like chili, bring something you do like. In fact, if you prefer, you don't have to bring anything except yourself and, perhaps, a few bucks to throw in the kitty.   April 5th, 2008    2008 DER Annual Banquet, will be held at the Cumberland Club, 116 High St. in downtown Portland. Join us for a social evening of cocktails, buffet dinner, door prizes, and a night of talking Porsches. Cash bar begins at 6 p.m., dinner and election of 2007 officers at 7 p.m. Guest speaker and further details TBA, but save the date now!

  April 24th, 2008    Tech Session at Morong's, Falmouth:  Morong Porsche Audi will be hosting a new DER Tech Session that will be hosted at the dealership in Falmouth at 6:30 p.m. This session will be featuring a demonstration and comparison of the new 2008 911 as compared to a 1972 version, both on a lift.  Light hors dourves will be served. The Tech Session will be hosted in the Morong service facility (located across Route 1, opposite the main dealership).

  June 6th, 2008   The Annual Friday Night DER Ice Cream Run to Gray: Blow out the cobwebs after work with a scenic tour to an awesome frozen custard stand. NOTE: There is no event fee. Info: Joe Thrift, 799-8992.

The ride starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Yarmouth Hannaford's shopping area parking lot between McDonalds' and the bank. We convoy through the countryside to Hodgmans Frozen Custard Stand on Rt. 100 a half-mile north of Rt. 231 in Upper Gloucester. Or you are welcome to skip the convoy and just drive to the custard stand to meet us directly there at 7:45 p.m.
