Since
our last newsletter, a lot has happened in our little club. In late
March we had our annual banquet, which had a different twist this
year - a presentation on the making of wine in Raymond Maine which
included a wine tasting. |
We handed out our annual awards, announced
and “voted in” our Board of Directors for 2002 and had several door
prizes, not the least of which were several bottles of wine! This was
truly a memorable banquet.
Our first club activity of 2002 is
scheduled for Sunday April 21, where Morong Falmouth will open its doors
to our annual Spring Fling. An informal event, providing an opportunity
for club members to come and go as they wish, it’s a perfect excuse and
destination for club members to get their cars out of mothballs, cleaned
up, and on the road. Coming up are our annual tour in and about Camden,
the Bonny Eagle Car show in which we have a prime location reserved once
again for our P-cars, and the ever increasing list of driver education
track activities enjoyed by several club members starts officially for the
most of us on April 22 at NHIS. So there are plenty of opportunities ahead
to join your fellow club members at one or more of our or other clubs’
events.

I would like to officially welcome
Glenn Hill as our new PORSCHEFORME editor. Glenn has
contributed articles to our newsletter from time to time, is a 356
purist/restorer, and an overall “car guy.” In welcoming in Glenn, I
want to sincerely thank Dave Getchell for his long hours of dedication
to the club and, most specifically, to our newsletter. Dave set new
standards for PORSCHEFORME and I am sure that Glenn is up to
the task of keeping our newsletter timely, informative, and
interesting. So, once again, welcome Glenn, and thank you
Dave. |

As your President, I get to reflect on the
club’s past and participate in setting the direction for what takes place
in the future. It is obvious to me that over the years your club has been
and continues to be very fortunate to have such dedicated, knowledgeable,
and committed people who, as volunteers, keep our activities interesting
and fun. I look forward to another year working and playing with my fellow
club members and invite you all to come out to our events, meet your
fellow club members, and enjoy our fine cars.
Don
