“It’s not just the cars, it‘s the people”

If you own a Porsche and live in Maine, the Down East Region is your opportunity to get to know your car better. Whether it’s through learning the performance capabilities of your machine, picking up tips on the care and feeding of your cherished vehicle, or just getting together with other Porsche lovers to talk cars, DER is here to serve your needs. Simply put, we’re Maine’s club for Porsche enthusiasts!

Owl’s Head Tour

“Foreign Car Day” at the Owl’s Head Transportation Museum

117 Museum Street, Owls Head, 594-4418 Saturday,

September 15th

9:30 AM Hannaford parking lot, Topsham Fair Mall

We’ll meet at 9:30 am in the Hannaford parking lot, at the Topsham Fair Mall, route 196, for signing of waivers and driver’s meeting before heading out at 10:00.

The route has been planned to avoid Route 1 as much as possible, driving through Richmond, Sheepscot, and Cow Shit Corner before joining Route 1 in Nobleboro.
After a couple hours at the museum, we will have a second optional tour to Castine, as a member’s friend has invited us to see a remarkable model train collection. The owner gave us this description:

Choo-Choo!  Trains, Trains and more Trains.  A one of a kind spectacular Lionel train action packed village, with mountains, train stops, multiple tracks/trains & other interactive surprises – scenery custom built and trains meticulously kept and collected.  Walls of display trains to enjoy as well as vintage cabinets of other toys. All this on traditional “O” Gauge three rail and some pre-war standard as well; with nothing newer than 1957 and some going back to the 1920’s.  This gorgeous village is clearly one of the owner/creators’ passions – you will see this passion first hand!”
